“OK Hinata I think that’s enough training for today” Neji said as he slowly came out of his stance.
“No I can still continue just-”  
“There is no need to push yourself to exhaustion Hinata-sama” Neji said interrupting her.
Hinata sighed and began walking to her room, before Neji stopped her.

“You know, at this time of day Naruto is probably on the training grounds…good day  Hinata-sama,” Neji said with a smirk as he walked away. Hinata blushed slightly,  part of her hated how Neji knew about her love for Naruto, but another part was relieved because  she finally had someone to talk about it with. Even though it appeared Neji would sometimes get annoyed  with the constant  nagging for his opinion, she  knew he liked it, he always considered himself right and his advice was the most helpful she could get.

Hinata showered, dressed, and made her way through the village up to the training grounds only to be stopped by Kurnai.

“H-hello Kurenai sensei” Hinata said with a little stuttered.

“Hello Hinata, how are you today?” Asked Kurenai, her hands filled with groceries.

“S-sensei you  know you s-shouldn’t be carrying anything t-that heavy!” Hinata said pointing a finger at her pregnant sensei.

“I’m fine Hinata, a little bag of groceries won’t kill me” Kurenai shot back.

“L-let me carry those bags h-home for you” Hinata begged.

(sigh) “Fine, here you go,” She slowly handed  Hinata the three bags she had been carrying showing the sign of relief on her face.

“T-there isn’t t-that better?” Hinata said with a smile at the look on her sensei’s face.

“I swear, you and Shikamaru are spoiling me!”

“It’s for your own good you know” Hinata and Kurenai both smiled at each other while walking towards Kurenai’s home.

“So where were you heading anyway Hinata?” Kurenai questioned.

“Oh, um… well I-I-I f-finished my training with N-Neji and decided just t-to take a stroll around t-the v-village,” Hinata lied and knew that Kurenai wasn’t buying it.

“Did your real reason have to do with a certain blonde shinobi?”  Kurenai knew she was right when Hinata began blushing.

“W-well I was told h-he would be on the t-training grounds, a-and thought I go watch” said the lavender-eyed beauty as she felt herself becoming redder.

“Oh really? And what would happen when he sensed you?”

Hinata was shocked by her sensei’s comment, she knew she wasn’t the best at hiding her chakra, but bad enough for Naruto to still notice?

“Hinata from what Kakashi has told me and Naruto’s progress, it seems as though you would be found the moment you arrive at the grounds.” Kurenai said in a matter-of-factly tone.

“H-has he really gotten that strong sensei? What if, what if he doesn’t even notice how…” Hinata’s voice trailed off, she felt all her confidence she had gathered over the past 3 years drain out of her.

“Hinata I’m sure if he were to see your abilities in battle, he would definitely  acknowledge you and your strength.” Kurenai said reassuringly. Hinata gave a little smile, she knew Naruto would notice her because she truly has gotten strong, she just needed to prove herself to him.

“Thank you Kurenai sensei,” and with that the two had arrived at Kurenai’s apartment, Hinata helped put the groceries away and left, once again walking through the village.

As Hinata made her way through the village, she stopped in front of Ichiraku’s, not sure if she wanted to go in and order a bowl of ramen or not. As she stood there someone walked up and stood beside her, Hinata was so lost in thought she didn’t notice the person next to her was none other then her favorite knuckle headed ninja.

As Naruto was walking down from the training grounds he only had one thought on his mind, ramen. He made his way through the village and saw his favorite ramen shop in sight, with a indigo haired young lady standing outside looking at the shop. Naruto wondered who it was until he got close enough to notice it was Hinata. He stood next to her  for a moment and looked down at her then back up, trying to see what she was looking at. He couldn’t see anything so he simply asked “Hey Hinata what are you looking at?”

Naruto was shocked at the reaction he got from her, she let out a small “eep” and as she looked at him, she became red. “Oi, Hinata are you ok? You look a little red!”  But to Naruto’s surprise she didn’t respond back, she just kept staring at him, getting redder by the minute. “uh, Hinata? Hello?” Naruto said as he waved his hand in front of her face. Naruto placed his hand gently on her forehead thinking she had a temperature, but when his hand made contact with her head she fell over backwards, fainting.

Naruto caught her just before she hit the ground grinning, his speed and reaction time has increased drastically because of his training. Naruto picked Hinata up and carried her inside of Itcharaku’s setting her down on a seat against the wall. Ayame saw Naruto walk in with the unconscious young woman in his arms and couldn’t help but let out a little laugh.

“What’s so funny?” Naruto said oblivious as always.

“oh nothing, what happened to Hinata?” she said with a smile on her face.

“I don’t know I saw her standing outside your shop but when I tried talking to her she froze and fainted.”

“oh I see, well what would you like?” Ayame said giving up on the topic.

”Miso-pork please!”

“Comin’ up!” the old man in the back said.

Naruto looked over to Hinata wondering what happened  to make her freeze like that, then it hit him…





CHAPTER 2


Naruto knew exactly what happened to Hinata, someone put her under a genjutsu!  Naruto ran up to her and forced his chakra into her hoping to dispel the jutsu.  Hinata woke up soon after but she was breathing heavily and there was a light sweat appearing on her face.  Naruto looked confused, that must have been a terrifying genjutsu she was under. But what Naruto didn’t know was that it wasn’t a genjutsu  that terrified Hinata, but his chakra.

Hinata was dreaming  peacefully in her sleep about her favorite blonde shin obi…

They were sitting under a tree; Hinata in Naruto’s lap, looking out to mountains in the distance.  She was so warm with his arms wrapped around her. She looked up into his face and he looked down to hers with a warm, soft smile.  Their faces grew closer, but just before their lips connected, a large bang went off in the direction of the village. They both got up and ran towards the sound, but when they finally got a view of the village, a huge monster was smashing buildings and swiping away leaf shin obi with a flick of one of its many tails. Hinata stared at the huge beast with its nine flailing tails,  fear ran through her body making her unable to move. She forced herself to look at Naruto, who had fallen over grabbing his head, until she heard a roar from the fox-like creature. When she turned back around the demon was standing right in front of her, growling. The monster attacked, its big paws swung towards her…

Hinata’s eyes shot open, she breathed heavily, a light sweat running down the side of her face. She looked up to see Naruto with a confused but worried face.

“Oi, Hinata, are you ok?”

Regaining her normal breath, she tried to respond  but  her words were full of stutters. “I-I-I I’m f-fine, w-w-w-what h-happened?”

“I don’t know, I found you staring into space in front of ichraku’s, then you fainted, I think someone placed a genjutsu  on you”

--A genjutsu?  No I would have known I was trapped, although it would explain the terrible dream--  Hinata thought as images of the monster appeared in her head. She shook her head erasing the memory, and looked back at Naruto.

“The weird thing is that I didn’t sense  an enemy’s chakra” Naruto said, hand scratching the top of his head.

“I-I don’t think it was g-genjutsu, N-Naruto-kun”

“Hhmm? Then what happened?” He questioned.

Hinata took a deep breath, now she had to explain herself that he made her faint.

“Umm… well, I was d-deep in t-thought and…and y-you shocked me,” she said looking down, twirling her fingers.

“deep in thought? About what? And how did I shock you with that Byakugan of yours? I don’t think so,” he said clearly not convinced.

Hinata looked back at him wide-eyed, he didn’t believe her, and he wanted to know what she was thinking about.

--What do I do? I can’t tell him I was thinking about him and that I fainted because of how close he was to me! Oh no, what to do?!--

Just then the old man walked in from the back of the store.

“Naruto! Are you really going to let my ramen get cold and be a waste? This girl must be someone special!” The cook said laughing.

“W-what? Old man what are you talking about?” Naruto replied caught off guard by the mans statement.

“Ha ha ha! You know what I mean Naruto! Your girlfriend has become more important then ramen! Although I must say I am slightly disap-”

“W-W-WHAT? N-N-N-N-NO SHE IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!” Naruto yelled in embarrasment of how the situation was turning out.
  
“She’s not?  Then why are you two here? And sitting so close to one another?” The old man chuckled.

“S-S-S-She fainted! I brought her in here to make sure she was okay!“  Naruto said realizing how someone could mistake the two of them. Luckily enough for him, Hinata joined in to clear things up.

“I-it’s t-true, N-Naruto-kun was just being a g-good friend and, and was m-making sure I-I was okay.”
